Climbing routes

Introduction
Montserrat adventure offers climbing instruction and guided ascents throughout Montserrat National Park and many nearby climbing areas. We started guiding the  6 years ago and we climb more than 200 routes in Montserrat.

We offer activities for children, families out for a fun day on the rocks, aspiring climbers, and hardcore alpinists wishing to accomplish some of the most difficult routes in the north face of Montserrat. We work with groups and with individuals.

Day Climbs

Whether you are new to rock climbing, making the transition from climbing gym to real rock, an experienced climber that is new to the Montserrats, or a novice that simply wants to summit an easy peak, Montserrat Adventure Guides offers excellent routes that can be done in a day.

Our easiest routes do not require much experience, though your guide may tie you into a rope. The moderate climbs provide an opportunity not only to test your skills, but to bag another crag. And the hard routes, such as the famous Paret de l'Aeri, Cavall Bernat and Paret de Diables.

Easy Day Climbs
Cavall Bernat, the normal route. 5.8 250 feet.

This is an extremely popular climb because of the fame and attraction of Cavall Bernat, and has the unbeatable athmosphere of the historic routes. The climbing in itself is not a big deal for honed leaders, but the great exposure, the polished rock, the frequent winds, and the mandatory initial traverse may result quite imposing for the first time visitor.

La Momia (The Mummy), the normal route. 5.7 260 feet
Historic route, a milestone of catalan rock climbing history. Today this climb is a nice two pitch Montserrat “potato field” on very good rock and well protected with renovated bolts.

Moderate Day Climbs

Cavall Bernat, the normal route. 5.9, 600 feet
Superb line that climbs the Cavall Bernat’s North Buttress, the “Punsola” is the icon of Montserrat free climbing, the mountain’s most stunning profile. Generously protected with renovated bolts, the climbing is direct, clean and pleasant, with both steepness and difficulty increasing with the height.

L'Elefant (Elephant) GEDE route. 5.9, 400 feet

Classic style route. The climbing is pleasant and affordable, mainly because the many fixed pitons and bolts make of this an straightforward job
